About Dr. Darius Ajai Frasure

Dr. Darius Ajai Frasure

Dr. Darius Ajai Frasure, EdD, MFA, PCC, is an executive leadership coach, mental health coach, educator, poet, publisher, speaker, and consultant whose work examines how people understand themselves, navigate complexity, and create meaningful change.

For more than 20 years, Darius has worked across higher education, healthcare-related, nonprofit, public-sector, literary, and mission-driven environments. Across these settings, one question has remained central to his work: How do people remain connected to who they are while responding effectively to the demands of who they are becoming?

His interdisciplinary approach brings together evidence-based coaching, leadership development, narrative identity, emotional literacy, reflective inquiry, somatic awareness, communication, creativity, and cultural humility. He helps individuals and organizations identify the stories, assumptions, habits, pressures, and systems influencing how they lead, work, communicate, and make decisions.

Darius is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership for Change from Fielding Graduate University, where he also completed a Certificate in Evidence-Based Coaching. His graduate education spans leadership, creative writing, education, and apologetics, providing an uncommon foundation for work at the intersection of leadership, narrative, human development, meaning, and change.

He serves as Chief Operator and Executive Leadership Coach at Assure Press Publishing & Consulting, LLC. Through his coaching practice, Darius has facilitated more than 1,000 sessions with professionals representing higher education, healthcare, technology, government, nonprofit, philanthropic, and other organizational environments. He works with senior leaders, emerging managers, professionals, educators, and teams navigating leadership transitions, burnout, communication challenges, identity, organizational change, and questions of purpose and legacy.

Darius is also a Professor of English at Dallas College and has held adjunct faculty appointments at other institutions of higher education. His career in education has earned recognition for teaching, advising, and leadership. His work as an educator informs his coaching philosophy: meaningful development requires curiosity, reflection, challenge, practice, and the freedom to see possibilities that may not initially be visible.

Creativity is equally central to his work. Darius is the author of the poetry collections stained glass medusa and of stone and rope and creator of the spoken word album Spoken Pieces. As a publisher, he leads Assure Press Publishing & Consulting, helping writers and thinkers bring authentic voices and meaningful ideas into the world.

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Darius has made the Dallas, Texas, area home for more than two decadess. His lived experience as a Black man working within culturally complex institutions informs his attention to identity, belonging, power, culture, and psychological safety.

Across coaching, education, writing, publishing, speaking, and facilitation, his work shares a common purpose: helping people see more clearly, understand themselves more deeply, and act more intentionally.

Beyond his professional work, Darius is a husband, father, poet, reader, football enthusiast, and lifelong student of faith, culture, literature, leadership, and human behavior.
