Aerial Hobson, Assistant Prose Editor

Aerial Hobson is a Literary Studies graduate from The University of Texas at Dallas. She is an avid reader of all things Historical Fiction, Ethnic-American Literature, Poetic and YA. She is a member of the Alumni Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Her work has been recognized by the Omicron Mu Omega Chapter of AKA, UTD, and the City of Grand Prairie. In addition to her role at Assure Press, she is also an academic advisor for early college high school students enrolled at Cedar Valley College. In her spare time Aerial enjoys brunching around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, attending Slam Poetry events, and writing short stories.

Camika Spencer, Assistant Drama Editor

Camika Spencer holds a B.S. in Broadcast Communications, M.A. in Playwriting, and an M.F.A in Creative Writing Education. She is the author of best-selling novels: When All Hell Breaks Loose (Random House), Cubicles (Random House/Villard) and He Had It Coming (St. Martin's Press). Her playwright credits include: Blind SevenMiddle of NowHereTeachThings That Go BumpPious (with Kyndal Robertson), Super (with Kyndal Robertson and Lindsay Jenkins), Stalled, and Silver Anne Gold. Camika has Directed shows for many of Dallas' finest Theatre Companies such as: The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Soul Rep Theater, Bishop Arts Theater, Lancaster Independent School District, and Junior Players in conjunction with Kitchen Dog Theater Company. In addition to her role at Assure Press, Camika is currently working on personal projects as well as being available for script consultation and coverage.  https://camikaspencer.com/

Peter+White

Peter white, Publishing Assistant

Peter White is a Multidisciplinary Studies graduate from Texas Tech University. His work has been recognized and/or awarded by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Mountain View College, Texas Tech University, Dallas Independent School District as well as the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education. In addition to his role at Assure Press, he is an elementary school teacher. He is also the chairman of Concerned Citizens of Dallas. In his spare time, Peter loves to cook and explore different types of international foods, write songs/stories, create skits, sing, and read poetry. 

Darius Frasure, Publisher

Darius Frasure is a highly sought after educator, writer, publisher, coach, and consultant. He holds degrees from Paul Quinn College, Luther Rice Seminary, National University, and Fielding Graduate University. His work revolves around partnerships with literary arts and education organizations, which impact the state of Texas and the U.S. His writing appears in many literary journals and select readings are on youtube. He has one spoken word album, Spoken Pieces (2010), and his poetry collection, of stone and rope, was published in the fall of 2019. Currently, he is the chief editor for Iris Literary Journal. He also manages Assure Press Publishing & Consulting, LLC, which connects authors and artists with the world through poetry, non-fiction, motivational, and educational literature that is mostly, but not only, in the English language. Delonte Harrod, Assistant Creative Nonfiction Editor

Delonte Harrod, Founder of The Intersection Magazine, is a multimedia reporter, editor, and photojournalist with 12 years of experience in reporting on civilian and military communities. He holds a Master's Degree in Journalism from Regents University. In addition to his role at Assure Press, Delonte writes and edits feature stories, editorials, and hard news covering topics including religion and politics in the African-American community, military policy, culture, and entertainment. 

darryl ratcliff

Darryl Ratcliff, ASSISTANT Visual Arts Editor

Darryl Ratcliff is a social practice artist based in Dallas, TX. In 2012, Ratcliff cofounded Ash Studios with artist Fred Villanueva, a 20,000 square foot DIY arts center serving communities of color in Dallas. In 2013, Ratcliff became the inaugural artist-in-residence for Rick Lowe’s Trans.lation Vickery Meadow initiated by the Nasher Sculpture Center. In 2014, Ratcliff initiated Creating Our Future, an art project that focuses on creativity and civic engagement and registered over a hundred millenials to vote for the 2015 city council elections.  In 2016, COF successfully advocated for $225,000 in cultural equity grants from the City of Dallas. In addition to his role at Assure Press, Darryl writes for D Magazine and The Dallas Morning News in addition to working with his art collective, Michelada Think Tank, to create pathways for creatives of color from high school to retirement in the City of Dallas. Ratcliff is also a recent recipient of artist awards from the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Office of Cultural Affairs.
